ABOUT THE BID

The Newport Now Business Improvement District (BID) began operations in 2015 after a successful ballot of city centre businesses in 2014.

In line with legislation, the BID re-balloted businesses in late 2019 and began its second five-year term in 2020.

The BID has represented - and been financed by -  more than 600 businesses during its first two terms. We deliver projects in partnership with the private, public and third sectors aimed at making the city centre a better place to work, visit and live.

The work and success of BIDs (of which there are more than 300 across the UK) has been shown to be cumulative, with each 5-year term setting a foundation for the next.

In 2024, Newport Now BID was awarded BID Foundation Industry Standards accreditation. More details on this can be found by clicking here.

See our FAQs section via the button below  for more information about the BID.

"Kymin Financial Planners have used several schemes that Newport Now have introduced for their members over the last few years. We managed to obtain a reduction in our electricity bills after engaging with their Savings Advisory Service, the graffiti removal on the side of our offices, along with a shopfront improvement grant which went towards the painting of the front of our building. I would urge businesses within the Newport Now BID area to get in contact and see how their services can also help you."
